Hearts in Hand is excited to share a new partnership with Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.

This collaboration began when Susie Carroll, BSN, RN, CCRN-K, reached out through the Hearts in Hand website requesting heart models for nurse and patient education in the Driscoll Children’s Cardiac ICU. Recognizing the impact these models could have in helping clinicians teach complex cardiac anatomy and procedures, the Hearts in Hand team was thrilled to support her request.

Rebecca Bates, an MS3 and member of the Hearts in Hand leadership team, personally delivered the heart models to Susie and her team while she was at Driscoll Children’s Hospital for her pediatrics inpatient rotation. The response was overwhelmingly positive. Susie and her team were ecstatic to receive the models and shared enthusiastic feedback about their quality, usefulness, and potential role in both nurse education and patient-centered teaching.

To help ensure the models continue to meet the needs of the teams who use them, Hearts in Hand also provided feedback forms for Susie and her colleagues to complete. Their input will help guide future improvements so the models can be adapted for different clinical and educational contexts.

Hearts in Hand is grateful for the opportunity to partner with Driscoll Children’s Hospital and support the incredible work being done in the Cardiac ICU. This partnership reflects our mission to make cardiac education more accessible, hands-on, and impactful for healthcare providers, patients, and families.
